Brief History of Homeopathy in Malaysia

Homeopathy was brought to Malaya in 1940's by few members of British Army from India. As far as we can traced Col.A.S.Rajah was responsible for spreadinh homeopathy among the Malays.

In later part, the first Malay who brought homeopathy to Malaya was Dr Burhanuddin Al-Helmy in late 1940's.

It was in 1970 the first Malay from Kelantan, Nik Omar bin Nik Daud went to Pakistan and study homeopathy from pakistan Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Lahore.
In 1975, he went to London to pursue his studies and came back in 1977 and started the first professional homeopathic clinic right in the heart of Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

In 1979 Dr Nik Omar started the first registered homeopathic college by the name of The Faculty of Homeopathy Malaysia with seven pioneer students. At the end of 2000 he produced more than 3000 qualified homeopathic doctors from all over the world.

1984 he gathered all his students and founded the first national homeopathic organization which he called 'The Registered Homeopathic Medical Practitioners association' which today has 500 strong and united members.

It Prof Dr Nik Omar who was responsible for the fast and sistamatic perogress and development of homeopathy in Malaysia.

Through this web, we manage to list some of the members who are practising homeopathic in different part of the country. Some never practise and some gone with the wind
